Trained By The Boss
Chapter One
David got out of his car, ready for another night at the bar. It was the only coping mechanism he knew of, especially after yet another shitty day. He risked a lot to get here, to finally leave the shithole that was his old life, to pursue his dreams.
Dreams were for chumps, and that’s unfortunately what David learned. He came from a very small town in Kentucky, one that had maybe two thousand people in it. For David, that was the life he always knew. He feared the big change, going to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of being an actor, but what was the point of having dreams if you refused to follow them?
Of course, that only led to a lot more problems. As soon as he got to LA, he managed to score a car and a very tiny flat with his money. However, the price of living here was insane, and David began to realize that acting gigs, didn’t really crop up in the way he expected them to.
He thought he would get jobs left and right, but he hadn’t had work in months. Not only that, he got screwed over by some former “Clients” of his, and now, he was sleeping in his car.
It was the only home that he had left, and he definitely didn’t want to lose that. Why he went to a bar when he had so little money, he didn’t know for sure. At this point, he wanted to blame it on depression and the inability to do anything right.
“Well fuck,” he muttered to himself as he got in. It was the same bar, the same place he flocked every single week. He hoped maybe, just maybe, he could find a girl for some temporary relief. A nice fuck would honestly probably help him.
However, as he got closer to the bar, he noticed a man there. He was a lot older than David was. Probably in his early thirties or so. David just turned 21, but did drink a lot beforehand. He slipped next to the other at the bar, and the man turned to face him.
“What you want?” he asked David with a smile.
David looked at him with a perplexed manner. He’d never been bought a drink before. But, as he looked at this man, he couldn’t help but admit he as pretty. However, David didn’t swing that way.
“A beer would do,” he muttered.
“Oh come on, I’m paying. Get yourself something nice,” the other said.
David blushed as the other man’s gaze immediately bore into his own. He looked at the menu, ordering a drink that was specialty, but didn’t make him look gay or anything.
“Thanks, but why are you doing this? Do you always go to the bar and buy people drinks?” he asked him.
“Nope, just the cute ones,” the other said.
“Oh no, I’m sorry, I don’t swing that way,” David said.
The other chuckled, putting his hand on David’s shoulder.
“Relax. I’m not here to fuck you or anything. Take it as a compliment. I’m buying you a drink,” the other said.
David was a bit nervous about this. He didn’t swing this way, and the guy certainly was charming, but he wasn’t into men. He paused, trying to figure out what to do, but then sighed.
“Fuck it, I’m not saying no to a free drink,” he said.
The two of them drank, and as David looked at the other, he noticed that his gaze seemed almost intent.
“So, do you come here often?” David asked.
“I’ve only recently started coming here. I mean, I’m always looking to help others out though,” the other replied.
David looked at the man. He was so confusing. What in the world did he mean by that?
“I don’t get what you mean, but if you’re here giving guys free drinks when they’re down on their luck, I’m not stopping you,” David replied.
“What’s the matter?”
Was this guy for real? Should he trust him? David sighed, looking at him.
“Nothing. I’m just…having a rough go, you know?” David muttered.
“I see. Financially?”
David didn’t want to tell this man everything about his life, nor did he care to disclose a ton of information.
“You could say that,” he said.
“Well, I can help you with it, if that’s what you desire,” the other said.
What the hell was this mysterious guy getting at? He looked at the blue-eyed man, and David began to notice he was very clean. He looked almost too pristine for this bar, like he wasn’t even part of this group of people.
“Just who are you? and how in the world can you help me?” David asked.
The man got up as David said that. This guy was super fucking weird. But then, he gave David a card, grinning at him with a catlike smile.
“Tell you what, give me a call sometime and we can talk things out. I look forward to hearing from you.”
“What do you—”
Before David could say anything, the man was out the door. He was fast. David tried to go after him, but he was long gone by the time David made it through the front door of the bar.
“What the hell just happened?” he asked himself. Some guy bought him a drink, said some sweet words, and gave him a card. He looked down at the card, reading it to himself, and that’s when his eyes widened.
“Lucas Stevens, entrepreneur. Sugar daddy for guys looking for a leg up, and a little extra help as well.”
David nearly threw out the card the moment he saw that. The man who just hit on him was a sugar daddy, someone with lots of money that was looking to fuck him in exchange for it. A part of David felt utterly sickened by this. He wasn’t into dudes. But, there was another part of him that felt something else.
Curiosity.
Chapter 2
David looked at the piece of paper, unsure of what to do. On the one hand, this guy could help him out, but on the other hand, there was no way he was going to sleep with a man in order to get back on his feet.
But he was so smooth, so suave, and David had to admit, he didn’t mind the attention. But, the idea of being with a man wasn’t what he expected. However, Lucas did have a promising offer.

; “I’ll think about it,” he muttered to himself. He went back to the bar, but the bartender shook his head.
“Don’t worry about it. Lucas comes in here sometimes. I’ll get him next time,” the guy said.
“Oh. I see. Do you know anything about him?”
“He’s just a rich guy always looking to pick up guys he finds attractive. I don’t know, as long as they aren’t fucking in my bar, I don’t give a shit,” the bartender explained.
“I see. Well…if I did take his offer, could I trust him?”
“I dunno. I never really had a lot of experience with the guy. But he pays his tabs and I imagine he’s a pretty chill dude. If anything, I would say maybe give him a call and see if it’s for you. Judging from the way he is, he can take no for an answer. He’s filthy rich though, that’s for sure,” the bartender explained.
So he did have money. “I see. Thank you.”
David left the bar, sighing as he went back to his car. He didn’t really have any other options. He got inside, heading over to one of the parks that was nearby, and soon, he passed out. It wasn’t comfortable, not that he would ever get used to this or anything. He didn’t know what to do. On the one hand, having Lucas give him money and such might help him with his bad breaks, and he could use this as another chance to get his shit together.
But, could he really sleep with a guy?
Lucas was attractive, he had to give him that. He was a bit older than David, probably at least five to ten years, but he was attractive for his age.
“It’s not like I can just up and sleep with him though,” he muttered. There was no way.
His thoughts were muddy as he began to crash once more, only to be given the rudest awakening possible.
There was a small knock on the window, and as David began to rouse, he noticed something on the window.
It was a ticket.
David started to scramble, to open the door to look at it. He held it in his hands, and as he looked at it in horror, he stared directly at the cop who gave it to him.
“But I was just sleeping,” he explained.
“You know this is public property, and you can’t stay here overnight. Don’t like that? Well you should probably find a place to park your car that won’t break the law,” the cop spat. He walked back to his car and drove off.
Figures they’d be like this. It was the first of the fucking month, and it’s not like they were kind to those that broke the law over something petty. As David looked at it, his eyes widened.
“Fifty dollars?”
There was no way. Not for a small thing like that. The cop was probably only there for a few minutes, so David didn’t imagine he was lurking about for a long time.
“This is utter bullshit.”
David needed to figure this out. He looked at the ticket, only to find out that it had to be paid by the end of this month, or he would get his license revoked, and he would end up potentially going to jail.
David sat there with his head in his hands, unsure of what to do. On the one hand, he wished more than anything he could get out of this hellhole, but on the other hand, he couldn’t just magically make it go away. He had to do something.
The card was there.
But David didn’t want to do that just yet. He didn’t feel like it was right.
“No. That will just get me in trouble. Plus, I don’t see him like that,” he said to himself.
You just keep telling yourself that.
David mentally told the voice in his head to shut up. He didn’t want to be a goddamn sellout. Not at all. But, what was he going to do? It’s not like he had a whole lot of gigs coming out, nor did he have many other choices.
Perhaps it was for the best.
“Not yet. I won’t give up yet,” he told himself. He didn’t have time to be down about this. He pocketed the ticket, trying his best not to worry about this. But, he couldn’t stop thinking about how much worse this could get.
How bad could it be? Well, he was about to find out.
David took to the streets, trying desperately to find a job, but there was nothing. All of the places either weren’t hiring, or they didn’t want to hire a homeless guy. David knew that his options were growing slimmer, and he hated to think about this.
However, he needed to. He wanted to survive. He didn’t even have enough money to go back to his hometown if he really wanted to. That was a long-forgotten dream, and now, he was left with the harsh reality of it all.
Even though David hated it, he knew he might just have to do it.
After trying once more to look for a solution, he decided to spend a little bit of time at his favorite coffee shop, where Esme, his friend, worked at. She was a cute girl, but totally gay, so it’s not like he had any chance with her. When he got there, Esme finished the last customer and came over.
“All right champ, what’s the matter?”
“The usual. I don’t have a fucking job, and I got another ticket,” he said.
“Like I said before, you can come work for me,” she said.
“No I can’t, your boss hates me,” David said.
That was true. Her boss was her girlfriend, and the woman always thought that Esme was hitting on him, so she didn’t want David on their team. He could only stay if he was paying for something.
“Yeah true. Do you need me to cover you? Jenny won’t notice,” she offered.
“Yeah, that would be nice,” he said.
She made him a cappuccino, setting it down next to him. She slid across, looking at him dead in the eye.
“Okay, so you don’t have a job and you’re essentially royally fucked. Do you have any solutions?” she asked.
“No. And while yes I do own my car, I’m getting hit with traffic tickets. I don’t know where I can park it either, because there aren’t RV camps nearby or anything. I’m fucked unless I find something, and I do so fast,” David explained.
“I see. I mean, I don’t know what to tell you. Maybe go into stripping or some shit,” she joked.
David looked at her, and she immediately looked taken aback. “Wait, you haven’t actually considered it, have you?”
“Not stripping, but I did get an offer the other night…from a sugar daddy.”
Her eyes widened like saucers. “Holy fuck dude. Well, is he cute?” she asked, her voice immediately going up three octaves.
“I mean maybe, but I’m not interested in dudes. I never have been,” he explained.
“I mean, are you so uninterested that you wouldn’t take a chance to fix the bullshit in your life I mean, I’m not saying go marry him or some shit. I’m saying that you should just…consider the options you have here,” she offered.
She did have a point it’s not like he had a whole bunch of other opportunities waiting for him.
“You’re right. Maybe I should try this. I mean, it’s just spending time with the guy right? I’m desperate.”
“Exactly. It’s not like you’re going to fall in love with him or anything. Besides, maybe he’s one of those sugar daddies that doesn’t want sex, but just a handsome guy to spend time with.”
“That’s true. Thanks Esme. I better get out of here, before jenny the bitch shows up,” he said.
“Right. See you around David.”
David left, and after getting back to his car, he looked at the tag once again. It’s not like he had a whole lot of options. He was running out of money, and it’s not getting easier. The acting gigs were sparse, and maybe, just maybe, he could get the opportunities that he desired from Lucas. He didn’t even know the guy, but he felt like taking a chance.
The next day, David decided to head to the library to look at information about the guy. Might be helpful to know exactly what he’s getting into before he said yes. He went to one of the computers, plugging in the man’s name. What came up, shocked David to the core.
Apparently, Lucas was one of the richest guys in LA, a total play
boy that’s known for treating guys right and winning them over. He is known as one of the top sugar daddies in all of LA, and people yearn to be recognized by him. However, he only looks for the finest guys, and he makes sure that they’re all taken care of. It’s also known that he’s super gay, and he isn’t afraid to turn down a woman because of what he truly wants.
“Holy fuck,” David said to himself. Lucas was loaded, but could he really go through with this? Would Lucas make him have sex with him on the first day? He didn’t imagine so, but there was that lingering worry.
He wasn’t super against the idea of a dude, but he was straight. He’d never done it with a guy before, and never considered it. But Luke was gorgeous, and David had to admit, if he did end up doing it with a guy, it would probably be worth it to try it with him.
“Maybe I’ll call him in the morning,” he muttered to himself. He shut the computer down and went to his car. He didn’t have any other great options at this point. He knew that if he did end up with this guy, it could change his life, in ways he didn’t know if he’d like o not. But, maybe Lucas would be understanding. Maybe.
That night, David spent most of his time in his car, driving about so that the police didn’t give him yet another ticket. Despite dragging though, he did have time to think about his future, and he knew that with the way everything was going, and with the way his future was playing out, he knew he wouldn’t have a choice sooner or later, and that’s the worrisome part.
He would have to make a choice, and that’s what stuck at the front of his mind.
Could he really stoop this low? Could he really ask this guy to help him? He didn’t know for sure, but it was starting to drive him slightly insane. The insanity was what was driving him forward, and it was what pushed him to make that call in the shitty little payphone near the coffeehouse Esme worked at, and it was what pushed him to finally make this choice.
